GUMS10

GUMS-10 is the 10th version of the Gaia Universe Model Snapshot, a simulation of the expected contents of the Gaia cataloge run at the MareNostrum supercomputer. The models used and the characteristics of GUMS-10 are described in: Robin et al, “Gaia Universe Model Snapshot. The GUMS10 database consists of a set of six tables. Please click on the table name to get to a page with further information about the columns of the particular database table. The metadata shown here is taken from the GAVO data center, provided by Zentrum für Astronomie Heidelberg on behalf of the German Astrophysical Virtual Observatory.

GUMS10.MW

Stars in the Milky Way in the GUMS-10 simulated GAIA result set. This assumes the Besancon Galaxy Model. (BGM, Robin et al. 2003).

GUMS10.LMC

Stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud in the GUMS-10 simulated GAIA result set.

GUMS10.SMC

Stars in the Small Magellanic Clound in the GUMS-10 simulated GAIA result set.

GUMS10.Galaxies

Unresolved galaxies in the GUMS-10 simulated GAIA result set, generated using E. Bertin's Stuff and Skymaker programs. The underlying distribution is uniform in space and follows Schechter's luminosity function for each Hubble type.

GUMS10.QSO

Quasars in the GUMS-10 simulated GAIA result set. This reflects the scheme laid down in gAIA-C2-TN-OCA-ES-001-1, i.e., SDSS quasar properties extrapolated to G=20.5.

GUMS10.SN

Supernovae in the GUMS-10 simulated GAIA result set.
